Hello World!

The topic of today blog is diving into the creative process from the perspective of an artist. What does he or she has to consider when composing, playing and performing. An artist is not a layman, businessman, or AI that produce only repeated patterns, or formula to sell. If you have noticed, everything is packaged and endlessly repeated. The same play list on the radio, the same plot on the screen, the same style of singers figured on Reality shows. There is an obvious lack of originality and appreciation. Art is commercialised to a point that he has lost its purpose and magic.

The artist, on the other end of the spectrum, functions on a totally different sphere. to create, he has to come out of his comfort zone to freely express himself as an individual. He doesn’t create to please the commerciality imposed on him, he creates to his own appreciation, from his own heart. Chick Corea, 27 Grammy Awards, simply defined the process of creating music: “Music and any other kind of art form is creating things that you think are beautiful, As a piano player, when you are playing, you have to be certain of what you like, not what you think sounds good for someone else, first thing you have to learn your own heart, your own mind about sound, so whatever you say is beautiful, what’s that is beautiful and pursue that road.”

Musicians are ultimately pursuing beauty, there is a desire to be authentic guiding them.  That is their truth. We find thus when they’ve failed is because they derailed and did something else. That’s where you find these artists fighting their rights to freely create according to their heart and mind. As a side note, you can hear and perceive the soul of the artist in his music and artistry. We are blessed to have great artists amongst us to give us magical moments.
