We talked at length at abilities developed by dedicated artists willing to grow their own brand of aesthetic. It has taken courage to put up there their own creation, stamp and personality. Do you know that an artist developing an ability, this ability stays with him to the end of time and, next life he / she will be able to rekindle it with a breath. Gifted children are these individuals who had mastered an ability beforehand. Everybody can master an ability that they will be able to keep and use forward into a near future, as long as they remain true to themselves, and always interested in what they are doing. Our aging legends are the prime example of working artists, even in their seventies / eighties, they are still playing and performing with great panache. They own completely their gift, because they have worked at it throughout their career by keeping it fresh and interesting. 

There is different artistic approach to write music. One is through jamming and artistic collaboration, by trying new things. An artist is a work in progress learning throughout their life as to improve themselves as artist. Being an artist is about the journey.  It is when an individual starts to put any creative endeavours on an automatic drive that creative skills start to steadily decline becoming redundant. It is like using too many gadgets to do things for you. People are losing abilities to cook, found their way without GPS, drive without gadgets to help them to park, or think original thoughts. What kind of communication skills can be acquired by conversing to a computer? Playing music with a computer and an instrument is quite different. To know music, you have to have a feel with a real instrument first. 

An individual will lose his / her own faculty altogether because he has forfeited essential creative skills to obey patterns and formulas that are not his. David Foster, the famous producer, stopped to write or produce music for years because when asked, he revealed that he had lost interest because he has seen it all, done is all, he knew the tricks upside down. He could no longer consider something as being original. He had relied on patterns and formulas to do his job for him. The loss of creative ability is a concern for the future of music in general. If we think of creativity as a flowing river, if it is not fed fresh water, it will stagnate and eventually dry up. As a creative individual, I strive to keep my creative ability fresh by being interested in what I am doing. I remain the source of it. My best ideas come when I am walking in the open space. It is the best investment in yourself to develop abilities and make them yours for many lives to come.
